(26) Intimate doesn’t only come in the bedroom
Guys, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but I feel that I must. We have a very bad understanding of the word intimate. We think that it only applies to the bedroom and I have to let you know that it expands far beyond that. Dictionary.com give 13 definitions and only one applies to sexual relations. But, unfortunately, many of us seem to only see that as the ONLY definition. Well, let me tell you that if you haven’t expanded its definition already - a great place to start is the marriage proposal.
The proposal is one of the single most romantic opportunities that you will have with you mate. It is your chance to create a lasting memory of the moment that you set the actions in motion that will join you two for the rest of your lives. There are few other opportunities that a man has that can make such a singly important impression on another person. The sad fact is that many of us do not make a good showing at this opportunity. With over 80%* of women reporting that their marriage proposal was less than desirable in the romance category, we have some serious room for improvement. The positive side is that the improvement is not too difficult. All you have to do is take a little T.I.P. The T.I.P. stands for Thoughtfulness, Intimacy, and planning. In this article, I will focus on the most misunderstood - Intimacy.
Although you may not be aware, most women feel that the greater intimacy is most often outside the bedroom. The little exchanges of looks, private conversations, and ways that you show you love her beyond the physical are some of the most attractive characteristics that women report in most magazines. Our lack of understanding how to hone our intimate skills outside the bedroom causes us to overlook many great opportunities to shine. One of these perfect chances is the proposal.
During the proposal, we have the stage and can set the tone in any way we choose. There are few other chances that you have to control all the shots and create just the impression and memory that you have than the proposal. When you are able to tap into the intimacy factor, you will get many “points” from your mate. All you have to do is find a special something that adds to the uniqueness of your relationship and highlight it in the proposal. You will achieve the level of romance through intimacy and she will adore you for some time to come (hopefully, the rest of your lives together).
